Series name: Teen Wolf
Canon notes: just before he leaves at the end of 3x24.
Species: Werewolf
History: here
Personality:
Isaac is, first and foremost, extremely impulsive. He does not often think before he speaks, and often times the first thing he can think of is the first thing his captive audience will hear. He has no shame in the things he says, and in fact does not often seem to recognize the social limitations or the intricacies of interpersonal relationships. Because of this, he can be exceptionally arrogant, sarcastic and cocky. He doesn't care what other people think about him, and he marches to the beat of his own drum. This often gives the impression that Isaac isn't very intelligent and, while not wholly untrue, Isaac does put some effort into schooling, particularly when his father is still in the picture.
His home life is tempestuous at best while his father is still living. The impulsiveness that we see comes, most likely, from a deep rooted helplessness. His relationship with his father is abusive, and Isaac deals with a lot of pressure to be a grade-A student, a perfect, obedient son else face consequences. As punishments, he has had to clean up messes his father exacerbates, and at the most extreme he has been locked in a box freezer in their basement. From this, Isaac suffers a deep seeded claustrophobia that not only has to do with incredibly small spaces, but any particular place that Isaac feels cornered or trapped. It is a trigger for him, and he will go to all costs to escape.
It is this impulsivity and volatile home life (for even after his father is killed, he lives with Derek in an unstable environment until he is permitted to live with Scott), that fuels his anger. When Isaac was bitten, it not only gave him an outlet for pent up energy, but it also gave him an unhindered power with which to use against those who otherwise bullied him before. For Isaac, it takes very little to go from calm to rage, whether that be an outcome of his claustrophobia, or a sense of betrayal, or he just downright does not like someone. When he feels threatened or feels like someone needs to be taken out in order to solve a problem, Isaac reacts with violence. This has a lot to do with his impulsivity, but much like Scott says, he is a wolf that has an instinct for violence, to kill. This quiet sort of rage is useful in fights with other enemies, and is only made worse when he feels particularly attached to someone.
Once Isaac trusts someone, they're in the club. He is a fiercely loyal creature, and sticks to those who he knows. For instance, once he and Scott build a trust, he follows as any beta would, but is extremely protective of Scott and those around him. Before the bite, Isaac was a quiet, reserved boy, perhaps to deflect attention from his father's violent nature, but also because he has serious trust issues. He does not let people close easily, but once he sees them as safe, he relaxes a little bit. As with the twins, he hardly trusts them, even after they've "joined the pack" so to speak, but with people like Allison, Scott, and even Stiles (in a sarcastic, frenemy sort of way), he shucks the reserved facade and expresses himself openly. It is a double edged sword -- his impulsivity can be a danger when he puts his trust in the wrong people. Much like he was willing to kill Lydia at Derek's order, because he wholly trusted Derek.
It is Scott, however, that overall helps shape Isaac's character. He transforms from a scared, skittish boy to a volatile werewolf, willing to do anyone's bidding if it is a means to his end. But Scott shows a confidence in him, and shows him that what is easy is not always right. Isaac's loyalty to Scott and the others in their group is one founded on respect first, and power second. They are people first and werewolves second, something that Isaac slowly begins to learn and appreciate.
This unabashed loyalty leads to a deeper hurt when he is betrayed. He does not respond well to other's anger, especially those who have more power than him. When Derek subdues him and keeps him from killing Stiles, Isaac cowers under his power, perhaps much like he had with his father. If he is greeted with anger by someone who is of equal or lesser power, he will respond with aggression to defend himself. Sometimes, because he's confident in his newfound power and overly cocky? He thinks he can take on even stronger enemies. Respect plays a great deal in who he chooses to trust, fight, and disregard overall.
Isaac, at his core, is a conflicted teenager, caught between being a kid (which he didn't have much of a chance to do) and being an adult (which he always had to be). He can be moody and impulsive, but will do anything in his power to protect those he cares for. Although he might not have the wit or overt intelligence, he is physically strong and puts himself into every task 100%. He is confident and silly at times, even occasionally unaware of how ridiculous he's being (and how inappropriate his comments are) but he is not a bad guy at the core. Just a jerk some of the time, and a derpy puppy the rest.
Abilities:
Isaac is a werewolf, so that comes with a variety of abilities. He has super-human senses. Although he has an enhanced sense of smell, he's still learning how to use his tracking skills, and has not honed them to their prime. He has super human hearing and strength, of course, but he is particularly fast. His speed is something he has excellent control over and works in his advantage in fights and sticky situations. On the full moon, these abilities improve, and he has an exceptional amount of control over his transformations.
