[ it's very hard to reconcile the screaming boy earlier with this energetic wolf. they're two different beings, really, and Isaac reaches out to scratch one of the wolf's ear at the knee nudge. he's much like a dog, and in some ways Isaac envies that. at least he can get away looking like something different, where as if Isaac changes he's just a deformed version of himself.
he's not sure who is the lucky one, really.
but he is keenly aware when the wolf's energy and demeanor changes, the growls and posturing. Isaac slides to put his back against the door. it's the only exit and he's not going to let the wolf even think about getting out. the growl, however, sounds protective, warning, and Isaac gives a growl of his own. ]
I'm fine. I feel fine, it's gone now. [ he holds out his clawed hand to the wolf, but even being opposite another werewolf is enough to make his senses a little funny on the full moon. he's registering the thing both as a wolf and as Remus, and not in the same way he might smell Scott or Derek or the others. it's... odd. ] C'mon, Moony. [ wasn't that his name for the wolf? he can't remember. ]
[He growls again, just to be sure, but settles down. Moony, and that's what his favorite people call him, but he's never heard it while as a wolf. He quite likes the sound of it, though, just as much as he likes the clawed hand offered to him.
He noses against it, whining-- the anger is there, hot and sharp, buried beneath his affection. But for now, he snuffles against him, pleased to have the company. Good good good, and he worms closer to Isaac, until they're pressed together.]
[ he isn't sure what to think about the fact that this wolf is actually Remus Lupin, snuffling up to him and wiggling close. all the same, though, he strokes the creature's head and back.
even he feels a little calmer, strangely enough, with his friend's presence. it's something else to focus on, something to avoid the rush of anger he feels on occasion on the discomfort of controlling himself on the full moon. ] Good, that's better, see? [ at least he hopes Remus is done with the murderous thoughts, because even he is getting a little tired. the full moon takes it right out of him. ]
[But the murderous thoughts, unfortunately, are never done. Isaac successfully greeted and protected, Moony turns, padding around the room, snuffling at the floor. Werewolves can't look disgusted, but if he could, he most certainly would. This place again, and he loathes this place, the unnatural metallic smells and the coolness of the floor and the lack of any natural scent.
He rounds the room, ending up a solid two feet from the door-- right where the boundaries of Remus' spell lay. Just like last time-- and just like last time, Moony lifts his lips in a snarl, low and threatening.]
[ he's exhausted from taking so much of Remus' pain before, and moves to wedge himself between Moony and the door. the spells keep him back as well, but either way, he knows he probably shouldn't let the wolf get too focused, after all.
instead, he holds out his hand, palm proffered. he has to distract him somehow, and he's about to merely resort to petting when he gets the idea. he growls lowly, and though to normal ears it might sound aggressive, it is actually a little bit of a challenge, almost playful in a way. he'll need to sleep soon but maybe a bit of rough housing will do the wolf good. ]
Come on, is that all you got? [ he reaches to give the wolf a little nudge, hopeful it doesn't just piss him off more. ]
[Oh. Oh, he knows the sound of that growl-- and that push is allowed, because it's not a question of his authority. It's just playing. And while he's played with Padfoot-- well, Padfoot is a dog, and so Moony can't always be so rough with him, he's got to be nice-- but Isaac's a werewolf, he can take it.
So with a happy growl Moony goes low to the floor, eyes narrowed. Isaac has all of three seconds to prepare himself before Moony's lunging forward, intent on tackling him to the ground.]
[ Isaac doesn't expect the wolf to actually leap at him, and he falls backward with the weight of the beast.
He growls almost on instinct, but Isaac is tired first and foremost, and keeping up with Moony all night is going to be difficult. he gives the wolf a tiny shove, even struggles under the weight, both out of playful spirit and caution. he doesn't want to mistake playfulness for aggression, and it'd be easy to do. ]
[He wiggles atop him and leans down, nipping lightly at his throat. Got you, and then he scrambles off, goes low to the ground. He's going to give Isaac a few moments-- but unless he moves, he's going to get tackled again.]
[ Isaac almost laughs at the way the wolf plays, nudging him back a little bit, glad when the weight of the wolf is off of his chest. he's sitting up slowly when he sees the way the wolf is ready to pounce again.
and Isaac waits until the last possible moment to hop up, creating a bit of intrigue at least. maybe he can wear the wolf down. it'll be getting late, soon, and Isaac's energy is going to wane. ]
[Holy shit, this is way better than Padfoot. Padfoot is clever, in a puppyish way, but there's a limit to that cleverness-- he can't jump up like that, nor dodge with any real finesse. Moony slides under Isaac, skidding to a stop, his nails leaving scratches in the floor as he scrambles and turns.
Isaac might be flagging, but Moony is the picture of energy: he pants and wiggles back into a pouncing position, tongue lolling out of his mouth. He's not going to stop, not ever, and Isaac had best just deal with that.]
maybe a lil timeskip? let me know if this doesn't work!
[ Isaac shouldn't be flagging, but being cooped up in the ship all the time has not done his stamina any good. There's a bit of fun in this, though, a bit of danger. But he'll continue at it for some time, dodging and rolling -- even pulling a few over on the wolf, pinning him down only to dart away again.
It's better than the growling and the anger, certainly.
But after a few hours of rough housing and playing, Isaac is done, exhausted in a way he's unfamiliar with on the full moon. Between keeping his focus and control, and keeping Moony focused? It's a new set of muscles to stretch. ]
Come on, you have got to be done now. You're not tired?
[ Which just means that Moony will have a transformed woof buddy curled up asleep on his floor in a few minutes. No big deal. ]
[He whines in disappointment. This isn't what he wants, not at all-- and if this were Padfoot, he wouldn't tolerate it. He'd bite and snarl until Padfoot got up, because he's the clear alpha there. But Isaac-- well, he's odd, isn't he? Not quite a superior, not quite an inferior. Something odd, and so Moony simply snuffles at his neck, nosing hopefully.
He's asleep, Moony registers after a moment. Impossibly, despite the fact they have things to do and people to hunt, he's asleep. Moony growls softly, annoyed-- but if he's going to miss out, that's his loss. Moony turns, sitting straight, ignoring Isaac pointedly as he stands guard. One of them can be responsible, at least.]
